Bruce Randolph Healthy Homes

A five-unit townhome new construction project partially funded by the Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Justice Grant and the City and County of Denver was completed and sold to families between 60% and 80% of Denverπs area median income. Deconstruction of two existing homes on site made this development possible. Rather than bulldozing the homes, women volunteers from Mi Casa Aviendas program, a non-profit organization training women for jobs in the construction field, deconstructed the buildings, salvaging window, brick, hardwood floors etc. that would have ended up in a landfill. The project was completed in December 2000.
