NDHC incorporates many green-built features into its affordable housing projects. We reach environmental goals for energy efficiency and resource conservation for the benefit of the overall environment and the occupant. Energy efficiency in our projects comes from upgrading insulation levels, comprehensive air-sealing measures, and efficient windows. Resource conservation is a includes specifying materials with recycled content and durable finishes that are inexpensive to maintain and that age well. For the occupant, these measures help to keep utility and maintenance bills low and replacement costs to a minimum.
